Over the past year, something interesting has been happening in the indie distribution space. Companies that went all-in on AI-generated key art are quietly coming back to human-led design. Not because AI art looks bad on a computer screen. It often looks perfectly fine there.

The problem shows up the moment that poster becomes a VOD thumbnail.

A 27×40 one-sheet and a 200-pixel streaming thumbnail are two completely different design problems. Building artwork that works at both scales simultaneously requires someone who understands film marketing, visual hierarchy, and the specific technical requirements of each platform. That is not something you can prompt your way into.

At Movie Posters Design, we have spent over 20 years solving exactly that challenge for distributors, FAST channels, and indie filmmakers. Human-led creative direction, with AI-assisted tools where they genuinely improve the work. Not the other way around.

If your titles are getting lost in the scroll, the poster is usually where the problem starts. And it is absolutely fixable.
